We’ve been doing a lot out here in the jungle of Honduras. Things like building/repairing the church, building chairs and tables, clearing out the land, teaching the kids and adults of the community, etc. It’s been really dope. I’m tired, dirty, and often find myself asking “what are you doing out here?” but I am growing, learning, and grateful for where God has me. I don’t do a great job with settling my thoughts long enough to express my feelings but I’ve tried. So here are 10 things I’ve come to understand while living in the jungle:
1. You cannot run from God in the middle of a small village in the jungle.
2. It is important to be intentional to fan into flame the gift of God that is within you.
3. Boldness is a mark of the Spirit.
4. It is VITAL to guard the good deposit that has been entrusted to you.
5. Faith MUST take concrete form in your life.
6. Supplement your faith; it leads to LASTING fruitfulness.
7. Loving others feels like healing.
8. Community will drive you crazy, yet community will fuel your faith.
9. Being yourself is a form of leadership.
10. Your view of God directly influences your response to Him.
