“Allow me to reintroduce myself...”- Jay-Z

What’s up y’all; I am happy you have found your way to my blog!

Just wanted to quickly give you some background on who I am. I am a native of Virginia who loves Jesus, ginger-ale, working out, and dancing in the shower. I consider myself a poet and like to write spoken word pieces from personal experience as a form of worship and creative expression.

As a qualified mental health professional for at risk children and teens (QMHPC) I have found a knack for building lasting relationships with youth, their families, and the community. For several years I have worked with youth of all ages in various capacities, including intensive in-home services, as well as counseling in the public school system and otherwise. I currently serve as a youth/teen leader at All Generations Church located in Newport News, VA, and a board member of The Black Effect Youth Initiative: a nonprofit organization designed to help youth of color find their “tangible genius.” I have earned my master’s degree in Counseling from NYU and a BA in Sociology from Hampton University. Among other certifications I was recently qualified as a K-12 school counselor. Having grown up in a small town in the Northern Neck located in VA, my desire to provide ongoing support and personal development opportunities for kids in my hometown also led me to form Next Generation: a faith-based sports camp for young girls where I have combined my knowledge, experience, and gift of teaching along with my love for basketball. I have a true heart for mentoring and discipleship in and outside of the church, and genuinely desire to make a difference in the lives of others. I am FULLY committed to walk out the calling on my life, but above all else, I believe my ultimate calling is to glorify God in all I do.
